In the Tekken 8 trailer, we can see Jin Kazama go up against his father, Kazuya Mishima on the side of what appears to be a volcano. The graphics were astounding and all the details were crisp, realistic, and on point. As we all know, there is a total of 36 playable personalities in Tekken 7 and we have yet to share the Tekken 8 roster when the announcements come flying out but so far, here is the list of Tekken 8 playable characters that we know of:

Jin Kazama
Devil Jin
Kazuya Mishima
Devil Kazuya
Jun Kazama
Paul Phoenix
Marshall Law
Jack-8
King
Lars Alexandersson
Ling Xiaoyu
Yes, you read that right, Jun Kazuya, Jin’s mother, makes her return to the series. We wonder how this will make the storyline more complex than it already is by having the whole family together in the series. This makes the storyline of the upcoming installment of the game more exciting and explosive than ever. While we have the confirmation of the 10 characters already, in an announcement made today, Nina Williams also joins the Tekken 8 roster.
The Silent Assassin makes her comeback and stays true to one of the mainstay characters in the series. Refreshed with a new look thanks to her new drip and with details never seen before, Nina Williams gets to have another go in the series.
Driven by his need for control and power to dominate the world and rid of its evil and corruption, Kazuya Mishima returns to Tekken 8 in an all-out war against his son, Jin Kazama. Following the storyline of Tekken 7, he confronted his father, Heihachi Mishima. Heihachi revealed to the world his son’s Devil form which made Kazuya displeased. This fueled Kazuya to eventually best his father in battle which he then throws into volcanic magma.
The protagonist of Tekken comes back for another series in the Tekken franchise. Jin Kazama comes in at full power to put an end to his father and his ambitions of taking over the world. Despite carrying the Devil gene, Jin makes it to a point where he uses his gifts for the better, especially with the influence and upbringing of his mother, Jun Kazama. After defeating Azazel in the desert, he was put in a coma state where he was taken by UN Peacekeepers who ultimately failed. He was then taken into a facility owned by Violet Systems where he was hunted down by Nina Williams who is currently working for Heihachi Mishima. He was able to escape with the help of his uncle, Lars Andersson. Together with Lars, Lee, and Alisa, they are all hell-bent on bringing down Kazuya and stopping the Mishima Bloodline once and for all.
The Hot Blooded Destroyer, Paul Phoenix, makes a comeback in the 8th series of the Tekken franchise. With his new gameplay reveal trailer, we see a new look for the character as he lets his tall, blonde hair down from how players would usually remember him, to being a scruffy-looking western man sporting leather and metal together with a big bike. Just like before, this hard-hitting character hits hard as always and is still a pretty viable character to play in the upcoming latest Tekken game. In the Tekken 7 storyline, Paul was waiting for his opponent but scratches his head in pure disbelief after hearing the name of Kuma through the loudspeakers. Kuma, Heihachi Mishima’s pet, was a no-show so a new challenger took the spot and it was Panda. Paul bested Panda in the battle and was booed by the crowd and the audience began throwing objects towards the victor. He would then flee as the crowd went on a rampage and sent a sword flying Paul’s way. The so-called “Strongest Fighter in the Universe” still waits his human opponent and dreams that it would be the likes of Kazuya Mishima.
The Legendary Dragon, Marshall Law returns in the latest addition to the Tekken Franchise, Tekken 8. Picking up from his storyline in Tekken 7, Marshall Law was in a mountain of debt due to his son and is still finding ways how to repay it. While his head was away from being preoccupied with relinquishing his bills to pay, Law lost many of his students at the dojo and was making less money than he expected. As a last resort, Law decided to look for a capable master that could replace his post to run the dojo. His buddy, Paul Phoenix, presented himself as a perfect candidate but Law knew that if Paul ran the dojo, it would go broke in half a day so he politely refused. Upon hearing of a rumor that a martial artist living in rural China was set to be the next God Fist master, he then ventured forth to his ancestral homeland to see the upcoming master. Finally meeting this famed warrior, Law was met with a knockout but was saved by Paul. The duo eventually beat Feng Wei but was overwhelmed by an aura surrounding Feng. This terrified Paul and Law so they ran away after seeing how dangerous this man can be.
The Anger of the Beast, King, makes his way to Tekken 8! With big moves that we know and love from the WWE like Pedigree and RKO, we see King make a comeback in the game making the words Beast Incarnate from Brock Lesnar look very weak. Coming from his storyline in Tekken 7, King enters the tournament to fund the hospital bills of Marduk and Armor King II. King also tries to find a way to make peace with the two fighters to avoid further unnecessary bloodshed between the two by setting up a match where they could dish out all their grievances toward each other. King started suggesting to Marduk issue a challenge letter titled retirement match once Armor King II fully recovers after Marduk does himself.
King is inspired by Pro Wrestlers Satoru Sayama and Fray Tormenta. He has always been a fan favorite and a huge icon in the game with his modern minimalistic appearance and his showboat set of moves. Will this finally be the year that King II gets the peace that he always wanted?
Lars Alexandersson, “The Lion of the Rebellion”, comes back in Tekken 8 with more lightning and thunder hitting hard against his foes. Coming back from Tekken 7’s storyline, Lars saved Jin after his battle with Azazel. Together with Lee and Alisa, they watch over Jin as he recovers when all of a sudden, Tekken Force attacks together with Nina to capture Jin but manages to fend off their advances. Lars then shares that Jin is the key to ending the conflict and asks him to right his wrong and stop Kazuya, his stepbrother, in the process.
“The High Tech Annihilator”, Jack returns in Tekken 8. Following the end of the storyline in Tekken 7, Jack is now the “Chief Humanoid Weapon of the G Corporation”. The Jack program is given further funding and Jack 7 is even given a $25 monthly allowance which Jack is elated to know. He begins his poses but then gets bumped by Lucky Chloe who is listening to her music which causes Jack to lose grip of the letter and start to chase after it. Jack successfully retrieves the letter but crashes to the ground in the process.
The Light of Hope, Jun Kazama, finally makes her way back into Tekken stepping into the competition in Tekken 8. Following the storyline of Tekken picking up all the way from Tekken 6, Jun was seen and mentioned numerous times during Tekken 4. Kazuya describes how he met Jun and how he found her to be fearless and mysterious. Jin would be found to describe how much he misses her mother and how he wishes that she were still with him. Jin defeated Ogre in honor of Jun and also recaps how she was an influence when Jin was supposed to kill Heichachi in Tekken 4.
The Dancing Phoenix, Ling Xiaoyu is back and will be a playable character in Tekken 8! Ling Xiaoyu is a Chinese martial arts master who has feelings for Jin Kazama. She infiltrates the Mishima Zaibatsu building in search of clues to find her love interest and to obtain data that would prove helpful to her search for Jin. Traveling around the world and following whatever traces she can find, six months have passed with no leads or hope in sight. There is something she needs to know from Jin, it is this unwavering and ever-growing determination that drives Xiaoyu ever forward to find Jin.
While we are still waiting on more details of the game like when it would be officially available to purchase or play as well as the whole complete list of all the playable characters.
