BattleBit Remastered recently released a schedule containing the date and time for their playtest of the game. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait for long.
BattleBit Remastered’s developers announced that they will be holding a Stress Playtest for the game. For those not familiar with the term, online games usually do stress tests to see if their servers can handle a huge amount of players playing at the same time. For this game, the latest Stress playtest will happen on Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 6:30 AM to 12:30 AM PDT. While this might not seem like a lot of time, this is actually the norm for this game. Instead of the usual approach of holding long periods of playtesting, they instead prefer short bursts, which lets them improve the game and fix any issues in between tests. The game is available on PC via Steam. You also signup for the playtest here.
Armed Scout Helicopters are now part of the game as well, so make sure to try them out. The developers are currently working on gadgets to counter the new vehicles. They have also added a way for players to modify the voice chat volume from all sources, including enemies. They did, however, mention that they will have more info to share soon. What this info is, we do not exactly know. However, once it comes out, we will be sure to update you about it.
Normally, short 3-hour playtests happen throughout the week leading up to the stress test. These 3-hour playtests are definitely not short, and you will be able to get quite a few games in. Sadly, however, they will not be holding any 3-hour playtests this week. Make sure to signup for the playtest as soon as you can so that you can download the game. Once you have, just wait for the playtest to begin. While waiting, you can check out the game’s offline firing range to test out the various guns the game has to offer. I have personally spent hours in there trying to master the sniper mechanics. The developers are constantly balancing and making changes to the game, so do make sure to try it out.
If you, like most players on the USA (particularly the west coast) do not like the playtest times, then do not worry. In a post from the developers, they mentioned that they know the bad playtest times. As such, they promised that once “small bugs on backend are fixed”, and that they have polished the other servers besides the 127 vs 127 maps, they will have a proper 24-hour playtest. Until then, the developers will maintain its two playtest days, one favorable to EU-US, and one favorable to AS-US.
Let me give you a quick rundown for those unfamiliar with the game. BattleBit Remastered is a first-person shooter in the vein of the Battlefield series. Players take part in 32 vs 32, 64 vs 64, or even 127 vs 127 battles. These battles happen over a large map, with Capture Points as the main game mode. Players fight over various objectives and must also hold them against the enemy. Respawns take up tickets, which are available to each team in a finite amount. Once those tickets run out, the game is over. Of course, the team with the remaining tickets wins the match. It’s a very fast-paced first-person shooter, however, it is one you will definitely want to play. If you want to learn about our first impressions of the game, then you can read our article on it.
